Darwin Price is right with 4th round TKO in Pro Debut...taking over for his murdered boxing cousin in Team Garcia stable of fighters
The pair of cousins shared a path to boxing. Darwin Price began his pro phase Friday night at historic Fox Theatre in Redwood City. Preston Freeman ended his, returning to St. Louis prior to his schedule bout at the same Bay Area venue a couple months back. The sensationally talented Freeman could not control his demons. Preston took off for the "Show me" State and was shot and killed. Abandoning his Team the week prior to a Don Chargin promoted show...all were shocked when he left, and numb when they got the news. Whatever drove Preston Freeman back to the Mid-West with his scheduled bout that week, will never really ever be known...but it took but one day for Freeman to be gunned downed upon his return. Price who is blood but not of the of the same neighborhood will be taking a different path with Team Garcia. The same manager and training family that were shattered by Freeman's decision, are embracing Price's talents and bloodline by welcoming him to the Team. Darwin is a sensational middle distance runner, capable of 4 minute miles. He is college educated. His speed and talent Friday confused Luis Sanchez of Fairfield, who was game but out matched. It was Sanchez' ninth pro fight.
